History

In 1896, Juan Bautista Bance began a successful legal practice in Caracas, with an impressive list of clients and a wide network of relationships with the most recognized firms abroad.

In 1945 the Bance Firm was succeeded by a partnership, incorporated in 1951, named Mendoza, Palacios, Borjas, Páez Pumar y Compañía after the names of the active partners of the Bance firm: Carlos Mendoza, Esteban Palacios and Miguel A. Páez Pumar, jointly with Arminio Borjas.

The firm expanded by integrating some of the most talented legal counselors in Venezuela, such as Manuel Acedo Mendoza, Arminio Borjas and Leopoldo Borjas.

The firm’s name was changed in 1973 to Mendoza, Palacios, Acedo, Borjas, Páez Pumar & Cía., its current name.
